Castor oil – extracted from the cold pressing of the castor bean oil – pure and hexane free, this wonder oil has gained a lot of positive attention for the wide array of benefits it so generously gives:

  • it is impressively anti-inflammatory making it ideal for soothing flare ups,  eczema, rosacea and psoriasis
  • an excellent humectant – drawing moisture to the skin
  • its antimicrobial properties help combat bacteria growth
  • it has analgesic properties and it therefore helps relieve pain.
  • the fatty acids such as ricinoleic acid and triglycerides can help, smooth, soften the skin cells
  • rich in antioxidants vitamin E, protecting the skin from damage by free radicals

Rosehip oil  comes from the cold pressing of the rose seed of fruit (the part that remains once the petals have been shed).

  • It is claimed to even out complexion and smooth out scarring.
  • Deeply hydrating  due to it containing many essential fatty acids, including linoleic and linolenic acid.  The fatty acids help keep cell walls strong enabling them to retain water better.
  • Rich in antioxidants this wonder oil is said to reduce wrinkles (though this is not scientifically proven). High in vitamin A rosehip oil therefore also encourages healthy cell turnover and regeneration and stimulates the production of collagen.
  • Furthermore it contains vitamin E which is known for its anti-inflammatory benefits and can therefore be soothing and calming for a variety of skin conditions as well as collagen production stimulation.
  • With all these benefits it is no wonder rosehip oil is known for its wound and scar healing properties as well as its ability to help reduce fine lines, supporting elasticity and giving a more radiant and glowing skin complexion.

Raspberry seed oil as the name suggests comes from the cold pressing of the raspberry seeds.

  • Another high source of both vitamins A & E, this  beautiful oil that provides anti inflammatory, antioxidant and regenerating properties, stimulating collagen production, thus slowing the skin ageing process.
  • High in vitamin A rosehip oil therefore also encourages healthy cell turnover and regeneration and stimulates the production of collagen.
  • Again, the vitamin E which is known for its anti-inflammatory benefits and can therefore be soothing and calming for a variety of skin conditions as well as collagen production stimulation.
  • Sebum imbalance in the pores can result in clogged pores creating breakouts.  The linoleic fatty acid that is abundant in raspberry seed oil helps rebalance the skin’s natural sebum thus helping to prevent breakouts. It is also is anti-inflammatory to help with skin cell regeneration, it plays a vital role in skin health by reducing oxidative stress in the cells.
  • High levels of phytosterols can help reduce water loss through the dermal layers helping to keep skin moisturised.
  • Rich in vitamin C, this delicate oil also give additional antioxidant benefits.

Frankincense essential oil (boswellia carterii)

Excellent for dry and mature skins due to its anti-inflammatory properties, this essential oil is also wonderful for oily skin due to its natural astringent and skin firming properties.  With high levels of a-pinene, a-thujene, and limonene this oil is not only anti inflammatory and antibacterial but it also has antioxidant properties.  It is also a delightful stress reliever.

Myrrh essential oil is a healing oil with its anti-fungal, antioxidant, antibacterial, astringent and antiseptic properties. It was used traditionally to heal wounds and infections. Myrrh even blocks the production of inflammatory chemicals that can cause pain and swelling.
