What is the difference between each face mask?
We offer four face masks, each made with different clays to suit different skin needs.
Green Clay Face Mask:Â Our green clay mask is ideal for normal to oily skin. It has strong absorption and detoxifying properties, helping to draw out impurities while the organic kelp powder nourishes the skin. Its texture also provides gentle exfoliation when rinsed off.
Rhassoul Face Mask:Â Our Rhassoul mask is a powerful yet gentle option for sensitive skin that needs purifying and detoxifying. It helps cleanse pores and balance excess oil while organic kelp helps soothe and nourish the skin.
Bentonite Face Mask:Â Our most powerful detoxifying mask is particularly suited to oily, congested and blemish-prone skin. Bentonite clay draws out excess oil and impurities while providing minerals to nourish the skin.
Soothing Face Mask:Â Our gentlest mask is designed for sensitive skin. Made with kaolin clay and organic kelp powder, it gently removes impurities while helping to calm and nourish the skin.
How do I use the face masks?
Our face masks come as a powder, so you can make a fresh mask whenever you need one. Mix approximately one teaspoon of powder with water until you have your desired paste consistency, then smooth it evenly over your face.
Leave the mask on until it is just dry, then rinse thoroughly and moisturise. With our Green Clay and Bentonite masks, we recommend gently massaging the skin in slow, circular motions as you rinse to provide additional exfoliation.
We recommend using a non-metal spoon or container when mixing the masks, and keeping water out of the product packaging. Our masks should not be used around the eyes, on mucous membranes or on broken skin. Wooden bowls with spatulas are available on our Accessories page.
How often should I use the face masks?
We recommend using our clay face masks 1–2 times per week. This gives your skin the benefits of regular cleansing and nourishment without overdoing it.
If you are new to using clay masks or have sensitive skin, our Soothing Face Mask or Rhassoul Face Mask may be a gentler place to start.
