How are HOSC cleansers different from others?
At Heavenly Organics Skin Care, we make our facial cleansers with a simple blend of natural, plant-based ingredients. Our creamy clay-based formulas combine gentle kaolin clay with organic sunflower seed oil, organic jojoba oil and vitamin E. We’ve designed them to cleanse away dirt, excess oil and daily grime while leaving the skin feeling soft rather than dry or tight.
We also use the hot cloth cleansing method, which provides a gentle way to remove the cleanser while lightly polishing the skin.
What ingredients are in the cleansers?
Our core cleanser formula contains kaolin (white clay), organic sunflower seed oil, organic jojoba seed oil and vitamin E. Our scented varieties also contain organic essential oils.
The different formulas include rose geranium, lavender, tea tree, or a combination of sweet orange and grapefruit essential oils. Our Unscented Clay Facial Cleanser contains no added essential oils.
How often should the cleansers be used?
Our cleansers are suitable for daily use. We recommend incorporating them into your regular skincare routine and using them according to your skin’s individual needs.
What is the difference between the different scented cleansers?
The main difference is the essential oil blend used in each cleanser, giving each one its own fragrance and benefits for the skin. We only ever use essential oils that are purposeful and beneficial to the skin. The core ingredients of kaolin clay, sunflower seed & jojoba oil plus vitamin E remain the same in each cleanser.
Rose Geranium Facial Cleanser: We add organic rose geranium essential oil. With its astringent properties, rose geranium can also help reduce enlarged pores. It is a balancing oil so can do wonders for balancing out uneven skin tone. Being anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-fungal anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-septic it is incredible with treating acne, blemishes and spots. Due to its antiviral and antifungal components, rose geranium oil helps strengthen the immune system and can help maintain general well being by eliminating infections. The balancing and anti-inflammatory qualities of this oil make it excellent for helping with rosacea and general soothing and calming of the skin. Rose Geranium also has benefits for the mind too. It is known to help boost mood, uplift and help fight depression.
Lavender Facial Cleanser: We add organic lavender essential oil. It is suitable for all skin types and has a delicate, calming scent. The lavender flower is yet another of nature’s wonders with its healing benefits being seemingly endless. It is a naturally antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory oil so works to soothe the skin whilst also helping to rid the skin of acne, spots and blemishes and heal within. This also renders lavender oil excellent for acne, scarring, soothing and calming itchy skin, or indeed skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. It is excellent on sunburnt skin and equally so for oily skin. It even acts as an insect repellent.
Tea Tree Facial Cleanser: We add organic tea tree essential oil. This is a popular choice for blemish-prone skin and has been used for centuries to clean wounds and treat a wide variety of skin conditions. Tea Tree is a popular go to choice of oil for those prone to spots due to its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and even antifungal properties. Tea Tree will cleanse the skin, help eradicate any infection, calm inflammation and heal, making it ideal for spot prone skin.
Orange & Grapefruit Clay Facial Cleanser: We combine organic sweet orange and grapefruit essential oils for a fresh, uplifting citrus scent. This formula is particularly suited to normal to oily skin. Orange essential oil boosts the mood and is an anti-depressant and even an aphrodisiac. It is excellent for the skin with its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties making it ideal for acne, dermatitis and uncomfortable skin conditions. It even aids the reduction of dark spots, thanks to the vitamin C content. Orange essential oil promotes circulation whilst simultaneously reducing enlarged pores and firming the skin.
Grapefruit Essential oil is mentally uplifting & stimulating citrus oil that is anti-oxidant, antiseptic and anti-microbial which makes it perfect for cleansing the skin. With its anti-viral properties, it boosts the lymphatic system so can help with freeing the body of toxins. Oily skin can benefit from grapefruit as it helps reduce the overproduction of sebum. Excess sebum is oily skin. By aiding the skin to regenerate, grapefruit can help maintain youthful and glowing skin.
Unscented Clay Facial Cleanser: We leave out the essential oils altogether, making this our option for anyone who prefers an unscented cleanser.
All of our cleansers share the same gentle clay-based approach, while the essential oils provide the differences in scent and additional properties.
How do I use the cleanser?
We recommend applying the cleanser to your face using clean fingertips and gently massaging it over the skin in upward, circular movements.
For the hot cloth cleansing method, run a muslin cloth under comfortably hot water and wring out the excess. Place the warm cloth over your face, then gently polish the cleanser away using circular movements.
To ensure the product spoiling, the cleanser must be stored in a cool, dark place with the lid firmly closed and avoiding introducing water into the product packaging. Our cleansers are for external use only and should not be used around the eyes, mucous membranes or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
